Somehow….SOMEHOW I made it through 16 seasons without knowing who Christine Brown and her band of un-merry sister wives were. How that happened I’m not quite sure but I do have one theory as to how they are absolutely living in my head and my social media timelines today; Christine Brown has found her voice.
Not only has she found her voice but she’s using it. Very effectively. Christine’s calm and soothing way, even when delivering lines like, ‘It’s over,’ have taught us all that you don’t need to be loud to scream. Christine Brown has been quietly screaming truths this entire season in an almost mesmerizing manner.
Her strength is contagious. It’s in the comment sections of her posts, in the hundreds of Sister Wives commentaries and episode dissections flooding TikTok…it’s in her daughter’s eyes. Christine has become the model of how to leave a narcissistic husband while exuding class and dignity. It makes me wish I knew her when I was leaving mine.
Christine Brown offers courage and hope to millions of unhappy and undervalued wives across the nation. She has lit the fire under these women to stand up and demand from their husbands to either be recognized as equal partners or to be released. ‘Love me or let me go,’ can be felt across the collective consciousness, resonating with women from all walks of life.
Christine did a Cameo for someone recently. In it, she spoke of how Helen Reddy’s song ‘I am Woman, Hear Me Roar’ has become a sort of personal anthem for her. One that she listens to on repeat from a favorite playlist. ‘I am Strong. I Am Invincible. I am WOMAN.’ sings Reddy. Strength. Invincibility. Womanhood. Christine epitomizes all three with enviable ease.
Thank you, Christine Brown. Thank you for lighting the path and showing us the way.
Roar on, Woman.
